Facebook Partner Categories – Overview Sheets!

By May 23, 2013 April 2nd, 2014 Social

Targeting Facebook ads just got more powerful. The latest updates give advertisers access to three of Facebook’s data partners: Acxiom, Datalogix and Epsilon. It is now possible to target ads to people based on specific criteria, including lifestyle factors, purchase history or job roles. Do you want your ad delivered solely to soccer moms who go on casino vacations and buy premium brand groceries? No problem with Partner Categories.

At first glance, Facebook’s Partner Categories are quite overwhelming. One day I browsed through all available options. A day later, I returned to Facebook and spent about 15 minutes in search of one specific category that I remembered seeing: “People living in homes valued over $1,000,000.” Not wanting to muddle through each data partner’s categories for every campaign, I decided to create these Facebook Partner Category Cheat Sheets. The diagrams are designed to give you an easy overview of all available targeting options (as of May 16th, 2013). Feel free to use them to plan out your next campaigns! I hope the overview sheets will be as helpful to you as they are to the team here at Blue Tent Marketing.

As a footnote: At the time of writing this article, Facebook Partner Categories were only available in the United States – and only in Facebook’s Power Editor. If you are unfamiliar with this great tool, I encourage you to check it out. Here is a link to Facebook’s own guide: How do I install and use the Power Editor. Contact Blue Tent Marketing if you want strategic guidance or need assistance setting up your Facebook Ad campaigns. We’re happy to help!
