Colorado Rocks Recap – The 2012 RLI Conference

By April 2, 2012 April 3rd, 2014 Strategy

We were excited to sponsor the 2012 National Land Conference in Denver over the past week. We nestled our booth right next to one of our best clients – Farm & Ranch – and began squeezing hands with a great group folks from all over the country.

With over 200 people in attendance, we got to listen to some of the best land and ranch brokers in the business tell us about their success stories as well as let us in on some of their pain points related to their online marketing efforts.  Robyn Scherrer who joined me on the trip had hosted a breakfast round table on Wednesday morning on “The Components of an Effective Website.” It turned out to be a huge hit! Even at 7am Robyn had a full house for two rounds of productive discussions!

Overall, the outlook from talking to ranch brokers about the land sales industry is looking up – particularly in the agricultural and productive ranch side of the market.  The numbers are not pointing straight upward, but you can tell from speaking to a lot of these folks that there is energy in the air and momentum is building in productive ranch and agricultural and investment properties.

After talking to these brokers, you can also tell that they are opening up to the wider resources of online marketing.  Brokers and agencies are grasping the importance of their Internet footprint and realize that if they are not there – someone else is.  It seems that our clients are finding that the buyers and sellers of all types of properties, big and small are opening up to more ways of communication relating to their listing and purchasing process.  The understanding of new technologies is making them far more versatile, not only helping them sell properties to potential buyers, but also promoting new listings and becoming a much more effective agent – thereby capturing the interest of new sellers.

We were also able to get some face time with some our most-valued, long-time clients like Jeff Garrett from Dakota Properties, Ron Morris from RMA Brokers, and Dax Hayden from Hayden Outdoors.  Always nice to catch up with some of the leaders in the industry over a few tasty beverages!

If you are a land, ranch, or even a residential broker or agent with a few land listings and want to know more about this event please get in touch and I will be happy to give you the inside scoop.  Also, if you’re interested to learn more about how we work with some of the leading brokers and brokerages in the ranch and land business, don’t hesitate to contact us.
