Here are a few Social Media updates from the first two weeks in July that caught my attention:
Domain Sponsored Stories
This is a new and very interesting advertising option from Facebook which will help you drive more traffic to your website. It requires the implementation of a short code snippet on your website and needs to be set up in Facebook’s Power Editor. How does a Domain Sponsored Story work? When anyone shares content from your website to Facebook, the platform will automatically create a Sponsored Story around it. This promises to significantly increase traffic to your content at a relatively low cost.
Instagram Video
After the hype around the video loop app, Vine, Instagram has decided to enter the “moving pictures” realm. The latest update gives all users a video recording function. The maximum clip length is 15 seconds. As with Instagram pictures, you have the option to assign color filters to your artwork. Social Media Examiner has a series of suggestions on how you can use Instagram videos for your business. Check it out!
New Google+ Buttons
Google introduced a new set of plugins and buttons to help connect your website with Google+ and promote your Page or Community. The buttons are installed on your website using a short code which you can copy from the Google Developers website. There are standard buttons, interactive buttons and dynamically changing buttons – for example, there are buttons that change from “Follow” to “Followed” after someone clicks on them. Another great tool to help engage your website visitors in social interaction!
July 4th Photography
This article won’t boost your business, but it will make you chuckle. Hubspot presented the worst examples of 4th-of-July stock photography. Even though the holiday has already passed … It is never too late for a good laugh.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what
all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a
pretty penny? I’m not very web savvy so I’m not
100% certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out! There are different solutions for a start up blog, depending on your needs. There are templated solutions (check out squarespace, or wordpress.com) that are basic, super easy to setup and user friendly, but there are also fully custom blogs created for your needs. It really comes down to what you need in terms of features.
