The ultimate guide to holiday email marketing

By December 14, 2020 Email

The holidays are officially in full swing — can you say the same for your holiday email marketing strategy?

If not, don’t fret! We sat down with our team of email marketing experts for a list of easy-to-implement last-minute tips for your vacation rental brand to employ during the final weeks of 2020.

Deck your subject lines with holiday cheer.

Consider using an emoji 🎄 🎁 to brighten your subject linesOr how about a holiday pun? “Yule” be sure to capture attention with “sea-sun-al” subject lines. Additionally, our team has seen subject lines with the word “your” provide a 4% lift in open rates. Regardless of what avenue you chooseA/B testing is a must, and can improve open rates!

Give the gift of vacation.

If you’ve skipped the Black Friday and Cyber Monday madness, now is the perfect time for a holiday season promotion. Be unique and simple in your emails. Consider adding in a countdown timer and/or an animation to stand out in the inbox. Make your call to action concise, highly visible, and easy  to follow through on.

Celebrate the season.

While the holiday season can often be the perfect time for promotions, it’s also important to avoid overloading your email list by sending too many promotional emails. Shake up your content! Include different types of emails such as holiday tips, local scenic inspiration, favorite holiday recipes, and endofyear milestones.

Ask for feedback from loyal guests.

Receiving guest reviews allows you to improve your service, operations, and offerings. Make it easy for guests to provide feedback by creating a simple survey. Ask three to five questions about what they liked about their stayAnd don’t forget to leverage your data! Send the right survey to the right group of guests (children, # of nights, rental type).

Nothing gets our email team jazzed like brainstorming new ideas and finding techniques that grab the attention of potential travelers. To ensure you’re capitalizing on holiday trends and increasing your open and click ratesconnect with your email project manager (if you’re already on Bluetent services) or chat with our team to sign up.
